Chanukah Begins: What's Happening in Davis?

A menorah lighting will take place at the Farmer's Market wednesday night.

Tuesday is the first day of Chanukah, and it will be celebrated by plenty of people in Davis. 

The Congregation Bet Haverim shared some facts about Chanuakah on its blog, along with a latke recipe, candle-lighting instructions and two Channukah blessings.

  • Chabad of Davis will host the lighting of the second Menorah candle Wednesday night at the Farmer’s Market. That will go from 3:30-5:30 p.m. 
  • A service and pot luck will take place on Dec. 24 at .
  • The Mitzvah Meals Project will take place on Dec. 25. People will volunteer to cook meals for the homeless from 2-6 p.m.

  • 3 Potatoes Dash of white pepper
  • 1 Egg, beaten Grated onion (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Matzo Meal or flour
  • 1 tsp. Salt
