I excitedly welcome you to Davis Patch.

As the editor of this space, I intend to do some really cool things, all of which are aimed at keeping you, the reader, informed and entertained. 

As you can see in the above video, Davis Patch will cover everything from news and entertainment to business, local sports and a whole lot more. In addition to news, a constantly updated events calendar can be found on our home page along with a comprehensive business listing under the Places tab.

All of these features are available on our free iPhone app as well.

Patch reporters will cover issues taking place both on campus and off. We’ll be at city council meetings and crimes scenes, no matter where in Davis they occur. If we're not there, please give us a nudge (e-mail us, Tweet us, find me at Mishka's, etc.) so we can snap into action. 

Stories will be posted instantly and they will come in the form of videos, photos, and of course the written word. Users will have the ability to comment below every piece of information posted on the site. We strongly encourage you to guide our reporting.

We’re also looking for bloggers. Our Local Voices section will serve as a sounding board for community members who have something to say, whether it’s a one-time thing or a recurring feature. Please let me know if you’d like to contribute. I’ll happily provide you with a soapbox.
