UC Davis announces its third annual TEDxUCDavis event. Described as a forum for “Ideas Worth Spreading,” the event will focus on the theme, “What Do You Work Towards” with goal of composing an amalgamation of minds, thoughts and perspectives to help individuals articulate what makes them tick. The event is student-run under the direction of Curator and fourth-year Cory Warshaw and produced by UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance. TEDxUCDavis: What Do You Work Towards will be held Saturday, May 18, from 1-5 p.m. at Main Theatre, Wright Hall

Some of the innovators scheduled to speak at the event include: Dr. Bryan Enderle, UC Davis Professor of Chemistry and avid theologian; Larry Bogad, UC Davis Professor of Political Performance; Vishal Gurbuxani, Chief Technology Officer at Velti; Dr. Amy Williams, Professor of Geology and MARS Laboratory collaborator; and Stewart Long, Aerial Photographer.

Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss their reactions to the talks during various breaks throughout the day when interactive activities are scheduled. The breaks are also meant to foster open and engaging conversations about the topics presented, giving attendees a chance to share their perspectives and learn from others.

As event seating is limited, it is recommended that tickets be purchased in advance at www.tedxucdavis.com. Tickets, pending availability, will also be sold at the door. Tickets include snacks as well as admission to the half-day program. The cost of general admission is $25; tickets for UC Davis alumni, faculty and staff are $20; and UC Davis student tickets are $15.

Additional questions and/or requests for comments should be directed to Christine Ton, Director of Marketing, at 408-547-7807or cton@tedxucdavis.com. Follow the event on Twitter or Facebook
