Solano County Supervisor Skip Thomson Endorses Dan Wolk for State Assembly

Thomson Cites Wolk’s Efforts on Issues Affecting Rural and Agricultural Communities

Solano County Supervisor Skip Thomson announced today that he has endorsed Davis Mayor Pro Tem Dan Wolk for State Assembly. Thomson joins a number of Solano County officials supporting Wolk, including Solano County Supervisor Linda Seifert, Sheriff Tom Ferrara, Treasurer-Tax Collector-County Clerk Chuck Lomeli, Assessor-Recorder Marc Tonnesen and County Superintendent of Schools Jay Speck.

“Dan Wolk has a deep understanding of the issues affecting the people in our area, including those that impact our rural and agricultural communities, and conserving our water resources,” said Thomson. “I support him for Assembly because he has the right priorities for our region and will work to make California’s future better.”

Thomson has served Solano County for more than 30 years. He first served on the Board of Supervisors from 1992-2002, representing Dixon and other AD4 communities, and was elected as County Assessor from 2003-2005. He returned to the Board in 2012. As Supervisor, he has worked to strengthen the County’s fiscal health, protect military families and preserve and advocate for the Sacramento Delta.

Wolk has already announced more than 70 key endorsements from community, education, public safety, economic and other leaders from around the district. They include former State Superintendent of Public Instruction Delaine Eastin, Former Assemblymember and Yolo County Supervisor Helen Thomson, Yolo County Sheriff Ed Prieto, Yolo County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jorge Ayala and Napa Vice Mayor Peter Mott. Dan Wolk has served on the Davis City Council since 2011 and is currently Mayor Pro Tem. He is Deputy County Counsel for Solano County, handling public finance, public contracting and water issues. He is also the founder of the Legal Clinic of Yolo County, a legal services provider for low-income families. Wolk grew up in Davis and attended Davis public schools, before attending Stanford University and receiving his law degree from UC Berkeley’s Boalt Hall. He lives in Davis with his wife, Jamima, a former professional triathlete and small business owner, and their two young daughters, Avery and Layla.

Assembly District 4 consists of Napa and Lake Counties, most of Yolo County, as well as portions of Sonoma, Solano and Colusa Counties.
