Heat Ahead: Temperatures to Soar Over 100 This Weekend

Special weather statement released; temperatures to remain high into next week.

This weekend is going to be a scorcher, and it appears the heat will continue into next week, according to the National Weather Service.

In a special weather statement, the NOAA stated that strong, high pressure will remain over Northern California through the weekend, resulting in a prolonged period of hot temperatures that could potentially last into next week. The hottest days will be today (Friday) and Saturday.

In the statement, officials gave the following safety tips:

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day

  • Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle

  • Wear light weight, light colored clothing

The weather in Davis is predicted as follows:

Today: Sunny and hot with a high near 101, clear with a low around 59.

Saturday: Sunny and hot with a high near 103, clear with a low around 62.

Sunday: Sunny and hot with a high near 100, clear with a low around 58.
