While driving from Winters to Davis Sunday night, my wife shouted, "Whoa! I think I just saw lightning."
A few seconds later, a few more bolts lit up the eastern horizon in the span of just a few seconds, confirming her suspicion. We decided to drive home on country roads so that we would have a better view of the horizon as the lightning flashed continuously. We parked our car on County Road 32 -- west of Davis -- and took a few long-exposure photos using the hood of our car as a tripod. If you took photos, feel free to add them to this gallery.
Did you see the lightning storm? Did you take any photos or videos? If so, upload them by clicking the button below the slideshow.
According to News10, there were about 2,000 strikes, which caused about 30 small fires, all of which were contained.
