Tosha Hanford is a member of Aerial Ice, a figure skating and aerial acrobatics performance group.

Before heading to UC Davis to study psychology, an area figure skater hopes to win a million dollars.

Tosha Hanford, a 25-year-old Elk Grove native, is part of the Los Angeles-based Aerial Ice, a group that combines figure skating and aerial acrobatics. Aerial Ice is competing on NBC's "America's Got Talent," which pays $1 million and offers a Las Vegas headlining show for the grand prize winners.

The Sacramento Bee reports Hanford has been skating since she was 5, and has performed on Cruise Ships, at Great America and at ice shows. She told that newspaper she would give some of the prize money to her family if the team wins the show's $1 million grand prize.

She said she's been accepted to UC Davis and hopes to attend the school with her skating partner and boyfriend this fall, the Bee reported.

Aerial Ice performs Tuesday on "America's Got Talent," which airs at 9 p.m.
