Look Who's Headlining the Davis Music Festival

Gwar has been a "mainstay of the Indie Rock Horror Metal movement for over two decades."

The band Gwar will be headlining the Davis Music Festival at Mondavi Performing Arts Center this summer. The Davis Music Festival made the announcement on Facebook Monday:

A mainstay of the Indie Rock Horror Metal movement for over two decades and recently featured on NPR's tiny desk concert series, Gwar is the perfect fit for a festival that is trying to break out of the mold normally cast for banjos. "The Mondavi Center is the perfect venue for a veteran group like Gwar" says DMF spokesman, David Horning. "Their management team has agreed to lift their ban on pyrotechnics and bodily fluid exchange for this show, though open devil worship, self immolation and crowd-surfing during the musical performance will not be tolerated as venue bylaws make clear."
