UC Davis is Sierra Club's No. 4 'Cool School' For Sustainability

UC Davis was ranked No. 1 last year.

UC Davis is cool, but not as cool as it was last year.

That's what Sierra Magazine, a publication of the Sierra Club, says in its "Top 10 Cool Schools" ranking of college campus sustainability.

This year, UC Davis ranked No. 4, and last year it was ranked No. 1.

"Last year's 'Cool Schools' winner, an agricultural-education powerhouse, churns out research that helps shape California's water laws and push new farming practices into the mainstream," Sierra Magazine says about UC Davis.

The list praises UC Davis' zero-net-energy West Village and its Climate Action Plan, which has reduced emissions to year-2000-levels.

Beating UC Davis this year were UC Irvine, Dickinson College of Pennsylvania, and the University of Connecticut.
