She thought that seeing former President Bill Clinton speak on the quad at UC Davis was the highlight of her day, possibly her week. But when UC Davis graduate student, Krissy Mahan, stepped into the downtown Davis Baskin-Robbins store the afternoon of October 9th, little did she know that her day was about to get even more exciting.

“I was on my way to pick up my kids at school”, noted Mahan. “Then I decided to stop by Baskin-Robbins for a Cappucino Blast”. After placing her drink order, Mahan noticed the new Dunkin’ Donuts K-Cup display in the store and wandered over. No sooner had she reached the display when Store Owner, Charlie Mitchell and Regional Operations Manager Tom Leeper came around the corner presenting a large check for $1,000, a year’s supply of Dunkin’ Donuts K-Cups and a Keurig Brewer to Krissy as the winner of the Baskin-Robbins “$1K Giveaway”.

“The giveaway was in celebration of the launch of our Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee K-Cup sales in California”, stated Mitchell. “We planned to give away the prize at 3:31pm and Krissy was the first guest to walk through the door”. Mahan was one of six lucky winners statewide, each of whom claimed the same prize stash. Dunkin’ Donuts coffee has long been a favorite of coffee drinker’s on the east coast, and with this product introduction, Dunkin’ Brands has given Californian’s an opportunity to discover the popular coffee blends in select Baskin-Robbins locations throughout the state.

As for Mahan, the UC Davis BioChemistry PhD candidate couldn’t wait to get home and tell her husband and three children all about her big win. “This is one of the best things that has ever happened to me!” she exclaimed.
