Guess the Price of this Meal and Win

If you pick the closest price, your lunch is on me next week (or whenever you want!).

I won’t tell you where this lunch came from -- only that it was excellent. The background of the photo is a hint, but even if you know the dining locale, you still have to guess the cost. Here’s another hint: The beer is an IPA and the meat is pork.

The first person to guess within 10 cents of the total cost (of the sandwich and the drink, plus tax) will win a gift card of that same value to this restaurant. I can attest to the fact that it’s a delicious prize. If nobody guesses within 10 cents of the total, I'll give the prize to whoever guesses the closest by Thursday.

Take a hard look, and place your best guess in the comments section!

Wow! Well done, all.
Todd Kaiser, you are the winner. You were the first to guess within 10 cents of the actual cost. Will you share how you went about your detective work? Also, email me at justin.cox@patch.com so we can coordinate a handoff. Stephanie, you nailed the exact price, but you were a bit too late. Still, amazing. I can't give you the prize, because Todd got there first and I have a budget. But send me an email anyway so I can give you an honorable mention award. (aka, a burrito, which is my default currency). ANSWER: $16.16 of pure, organic deliciousness from Monticello Seasonal Cuisine. http://patch.com/L-rpXy
Todd Kaiser October 31, 2011 at 04:40 pm
Yay!
I spotted the counter and realized it was Monticello. From there I guessed $5 for a beer, $10 for a burger and a tax rate of 7.75%

Hi Katie. If somebody is interested in the kittens, who do they contact? I'll share this if you addRead More that information, either in the article or in these comments. Thanks!

Have the kittens been adopted yet?

At first I thought, "What now? First the IRS is investigating the Tea Party and now the OddRead More Fellows and Soroptimist?" But then, after reading the article I realize that these are pretty serious allegations if proven to be true. I'm curious what specific "foster youth" organizations have benefitted from all of this fundraising. "Foster youth" is a pretty generic phrase and could refer to any number of organizations. With all of the non-profits I have worked with, the specific charity benefitting from their work was very clearly identified (and their 501c status was never in question).
