PHOTOS: Community Members Meet the Council Candidates

The Davis Vanguard is looking for donations to help fund Saturday's event.

The Davis Vanguard held a meet-the-candidates event Saturday afternoon. They served up Mexican food for Cinco de Mayo and erected a bounce house for kids.

I chatted briefly with all of the candidates (except for Stephen Souza, who was not there while I was in attendance). It was an enjoyable setting, perfect for casual conversation with our future councilmembers.

There were also tons of people lining up at the nearby movie theater to catch the box-office hit "The Avengers." It looked like a few of them stopped by the meet-and-greet on their way.
