Rostini Italian Kitchen Closes

For reasons unknown, the owners of the Italian restaurant have decided to close up shop.

Rostini Italian Kitchen, known for its easy-order, casual style has closed its doors and it's not quite clear why.

Patrons expecting to grab a bite to eat at the restaurant may have been greeted by a sign on the restaurant's front door explaining that Rostini's had in fact closed.

"We thank you for your loyalty over the past two years," the sign reads. "We truly enjoyed getting to know you, and being a part of the Davis community."

The Italian-style restaurant located at 1411 West Covell Boulevard opened in March 2011 and replaced Strings Italian Café in The Marketplace.

Rostini offered a variety of freshly prepared dishes like pizza, pasta, sandwiches, salads and roasted chicken, which the customer would order at the restaurant's front counter. The food would then be rushed to the customer's table by a food runner.
