The Whole Foods Parking Lot: It's About to Get Real (VIDEO)

Whole Foods celebrates its grand opening Wednesday, which means Davis Commons will soon become even more of a hot spot.

Whole Foods will open its doors in Davis Wednesday morning, filling the vacancy left by Borders Books in the Davis Commons shopping center last year. A bread breaking will be held at the store at 9:45 a.m. to celebrate the store's grand opening.

The Davis Commons shopping center is heavily traveled by students, in part because it backs up against the UC Davis Arboretum and also because it has several popular lunch spots for students. Whole Foods is expected to draw many more to the area.

The store's parking lot has been a heavily discussed topic of conversation ever since it was announced. The Davis Commons lot already fills up routinely and can be a challenge to navigate because it only has one inlet/outlet.

During a tour of the store last week, I was told that Whole Foods will offer bike carriages for cyclists to tow their groceries home. All you have to do is show your license, fill out a form, and you can ride home with your groceries. (I'm not yet sure how long you have to return the carriage).

With the store opening Wednesday morning, this felt like a fine time to share the "It's Getting Real in the Whole Foods Parking Lot" video, which went viral on YouTube long before the chain announced it would come to Davis.

I haven't had allergies this bad since I was five and living in Bellflower, CA. The doctors said toRead More get me out of California. That was in 1945.
