16-Year-Old Davis Male Arrested for Murder of Elderly Couple in April

A 16 year old male, Davis resident, was arrested today for the double murder of an elderly Davis couple in April.

The Davis Police Department, along with members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the California Department of Justice, the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office, the West Sacramento Police Department, and the Dixon Police Department served several search warrants in regards to the case today, June 17, 2013. The suspect’s name has not been released because he is a minor.

On April 14, 2013, at approximately 9:20 pm, the Davis Police Department responded to the 4000 block of Cowell Blvd. for a welfare check. While conducting the check, officers discovered two deceased adults inside. The deceased were later identified as 87 year old Oliver Northup of Davis and his wife, 76 year old Claudia Maupin of Davis. During the course of the investigation, officers discovered signs of forced entry to the residence.
