Downtown Holiday Parade is on Rain or Shine–Within Reason

The Davis Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting will be held Thursday, Nov. 29.

Davis officials will be doing their best to keep Santa dry Thursday night.

The city and Davis Downtown will hold the Davis Holiday Parade at 6 p.m. Thursday, as long as rains aren't too severe.

"We're planning to start the parade at 6 p.m. unless the police department tells us it's unsafe," city spokesman Bob Bowens said by phone.

The parade will be followed by the tree lighting at 6:30, and refreshments to follow. One change organizers have made because of the weather is moving Santa–the jolly Mr. Claus will now be located indoors, across the parking lot from the E Street Plaza.
