UCD Police: Two Men Shouted Gay Slurs Before Assaulting Victim, Driving Away

UC Davis police are seeking two men suspected of "shouting sexual-orientation bias slurs" at a victim who was walking along Levee Road on the evening of Sunday, May 12. 

The men were driving a burgundy Jeep SUV, according to police. 

"The two suspects got out of the vehicle and assaulted the victim repeatedly," according to a UC Davis Police Department release. "The suspects then got into their vehicle and drove away on Brooks Road." 

The Davis Vanguard reports that police are investigating the incident as a hate crime. This comes on the heels of another beating in Davis that is currently being tried as a homophobic hate crime. (Read about the Mikey Partida beating here). 

As for this recent incident, here's a description of the suspects, provided by police: 

  • Suspect #1: White male adult, late teens – early 20”s, 5’’10” tall, 150 pounds, medium build, light complexion, brown eyes, short straight brown hair.
  • Suspect #2: White male adult, late teens – early 20”s, 5’’10” tall, 150 pounds, medium build, light complexion, brown eyes, short straight brown hair.
