November Show: Can wildlife images be used to make art?

What happens when a trained wildlife biologist asks the question, “How can wildlife images be used to make art?” A quote by Nikola Tesla comes to mind: “I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success." The triumph of asking a question and then working toward success is shared by scientists and artists, or in the case of Rob Floerke, a scientist who is also an artist.

This month we celebrate the stunning answer to Rob’s question in a magnificent display of wildlife photographs that transcend the genre to become true art. Each image transfixes us and invites us into a new relationship with the natural world and its creatures. Rob’s work will be on display at Gallery 1855 weekdays from 9 AM through 3 PM during the month of November, 2013.

You are warmly invited to meet Rob Floerke, munch a bit, and view this amazing work at our free Reception/Open house on Sunday, November 10, 2013, 1 PM – 4 PM, at Gallery 1855, located in the office of Davis Cemetery District, 820 Pole Line Road, Davis, CA, 95618.  Afterwards, feel free to stroll our sumptuous historic grounds.
