Join us for a great opportunity to acquire some fantastic works of art at the Pence Gallery’s Annual Art Auction on September 20th, from 6:30-9:30 PM. This a fun social event where art lovers can collect wonderful art created by the top local and regional artists. This year’s Auction, located at the Pence Gallery in Davis, will allow patrons to view and bid on fantastic works of art.

To celebrate the Gallery’s thirty-eight years of connecting the community with innovative and thought-provoking art, artists from throughout the region have contributed paintings, mosaics, ceramics, photography, textiles, and sculpture. Silent bidding begins on August 30th, and concludes the evening of the Gala, followed by a live auction led by auctioneer John Bonner. Amazing works of art by local and regional artists such as Gregory Kondos, Joseph Bellacera, Tony Natsoulas, Donna Billick, and Richard Shaw will be available. In addition to the over 150 works available, six pieces from the Davis Art Center’s permanent collection will be auctioned, including important ceramics by Robert Arneson and David Gilhooly, as well as paintings by Gladys Nilsson and Chiura Obata. 

Gourmet appetizers and desserts by Dos Coyotes Border Cafe, deVere’s Irish Pub, Seasons, Nugget Markets, and Caffe Italia will satisfy every bidder. Sacramento jazz band Zorelli will entertain guests with their Caribbean sound, and Fiddlehead Cellars will offer their award-winning wines. Coffee is provided by Peet’s Tea & Coffee. 

Proceeds from the Art Auction support our education and exhibit programs, serving 16,000 visitors annually. Tickets are $30 for members and $40 for non-members and may be purchased at the Pence Gallery by phone with a credit card or in person at the Gallery, which is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30-5PM. Tickets are also available online at www.pencegallery.org.
