Yolo Audubon Presents: "Mountains of Indonesia"

The public is invited to attend the Yolo Audubon Society’s monthly meeting on April 16, when Andy Engilis, curator of the UC Davis Museum of Wildlife and Fish Biology, as he leads attendees on a fantastic biological voyage to an unexplored region of Indonesia, the Mekongga Mountains.  In a region never before systematically surveyed for its diversity, Andy will highlight the plants, insects, and vertebrates discovered in this very remote region of the world, including many species new to science.

Findings from 2009-11 Mekongga expeditions led to the establishment of a new national park protecting this unique rainforest system of Wallacea – one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots.
 
Yolo Audubon meets monthly on the third Wednesday (April 16) at the Davis Senior Citizens Center, 646 A Street.  The program begins at 7:30 p.m.  Participants are invited to the pre-meeting “social” at 7:00 PM; there will be cookies, juice, coffee, tea and conversation.
