Today marks the second annual IPA Day. The hoppy India Pale Ale, or IPA for short, is being celebrated across the country.
Davis' own City Hall Tavern, part of the 226 F St. Bistro 33 restaurant in downtown, is celebrating the holiday.
"It's #IPADay day at #cityhalltavern. Come down and enjoy some great IPA's from Boulder, High Water, Bison, and Berryessa brewing," City Hall Tavern Tweeted earlier today. Representatives from Boulder Beer, based in Colorado, will be present at the Tavern tonight. According to those at the restaurant, the Tavern is offering $4 specials on IPAs and is open until midnight.
According to CraftBeer.com founded last year by beer evangelists and social media personalities Ashley Routson (@TheBeerWench) and Ryan Ross (@RyanARoss). According to the site IPA Day "is a universal movement created to unite the voices of craft beer enthusiasts, bloggers and brewers worldwide, using social media as the common arena for connecting the conversation."
If beer isn't your thing, it's also National Ice Cream Sandwich Day.
