BLOG: When Life Gives You Lemons...

Take advantage of lemon season with these tasty recipes from The Big Green Bowl.

Lemons, lemons everywhere!

I have a Meyer lemon tree in my backyard, and this time of year it is bursting with fruit. I love the taste of the Meyer lemon. Its slightly sweet flavor lends itself well to desserts and other foods. I am always on the lookout for new recipes to use with them.

If you don't have a lemon tree, no worries. Lemons are abundant right now in Davis grocery stores and at the Davis Farmers Market. Next time you are shopping, be sure to grab several for yourself and then stop by for a visit at The Big Green Bowl for some tasty recipes.

You can whip up this delicious Meyer Lemon Cake for dessert, or if you're more in the mood for cookies, these Lemon Crinkles will satisfy your craving. Lemon Crumb Muffins make a delicious breakfast or snack with a cup of lemon tea. So many lemons, so many delicious choices!

Happy Baking!

Bianca's family has a lemon tree, so we always take tons of them back when we visit. Not sure if they're Meyer lemons, but I will find out. Lemon Crumb Muffins and lemon tea sound amazing right about now.

My neighbor always gives us lemons from his tree, so I’m always looking for new recipes. The Lemon Crinkles look and sound delicious! I might give them a try this weekend. Yum!
