'Armed and Dangerous' Vehicle Burglar Sought by Davis Police

44-year-old Michael Cordell is known to carry weapons, according to the Davis Police Department

Police received a report of suspicious subjects looking into vehicles at 1809 Picasso Avenue in Davis on Wednesday morning. When they arrived, they saw a pickup truck leaving the area. 

When police pulled over the truck, the passenger opened the door and ran, according to a statement from Davis Police Lt. Paul Doroshov. The driver, Eric Buenafe, 46, of Dixon, was taken into custody.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered that several vehicle break-ins recently occurred in the area, wrote Doroshov, who elaborated on the case with the following statement:

Based on the evidence uncovered during the investigation officers suspected that Buenafe and the passenger who fled were responsible for the vehicle burglaries. Eric Buenafe was arrested and ultimately lodged at the Yolo County Jail in Woodland on burglary charges.

Davis Police are also looking for Michael Cordell (a 44 year old Solano man) in connection with this case. Cordell is known to carry weapons and should be considered armed and dangerous.
