Dixon Man Arrested for 'Sexual Relationship With a Minor' in Davis; Held on $1 Million Bail

A 37-year-old former Dixon High School football and basketball coach was arrested by Davis police Thursday for allegedly engaging in an illegal sexual relationship with a 17-year-old Dixon girl, according to the Davis Police Department.

Troy Hensley is now being held in the Yolo County Jail on $1 million bail.

“Hensley and the minor victim had, while in Davis, engaged in a sexual relationship for three-and-a-half months in 2012,” according to Davis Polie Lt. Glenn Glasgow. “It was also determined that Hensley had made threats to harm the victim and others if she reported their relationship to the police.”

According to a spokesperson for the Yolo County Jail, the charges are unlawful sex with a minor, oral copulation, sexual penetration with a foreign object with a person under 18 and threatening a crime with intent to terrorize.

The Davis Police Department initiated their investigation into Hensley on May 22, and they worked with the Dixon Police Department’s investigations bureau.
Hensley is a former youth basketball coach in Dixon and has had contact with young females in his work.

“The Davis Police Department is trying to determine if there are additional victims located in the surrounding area, including Davis and Dixon,” according to Glasgow. “The Davis Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding Hensley to contact the Davis Police Department’s Investigations Division at 530-747-5400.”

Hensley made headlines locally in 2012 after he coached the JV Dixon High Rams football team to a 9-1 record. He wasn’t asked to return the following season, prompting a huge backlash among several Dixon High players, parents and coaches.

Hensley’s arraignment will be at the Yolo County Superior Court on Monday, June 3 at 1:30 p.m.
