Police Release Photo of Suspected Verizon Store Robber, Who May Have Been Armed

While taking items from the Verizon store, the suspect gave the impression that he was armed with a weapon.

Police released a photo Tuesday of the man who allegedly robbed a Verizon store in Davis on Feb. 11. Anyone with information about the suspect or the robbery is urged to contact the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400 if they recognize this suspect.

ORIGINAL STORY: Patch has learned that the Verizon store in downtown Davis was robbed Monday evening around 7 p.m.

"The suspect in this case entered the store and requested to look at some merchandise," said the Davis Police Department in a release on Tuesday. "While the clerk was assisting with the request, the suspect began to remove merchandise from a storage cabinet."

While taking the items, the suspect gave the impression that he was armed with a weapon, although none was seen, according to police. They said he was last seen walking south through the parking lot. The total loss is not known at the moment.

According to the Davis Police Department:

The suspect is described as a White male adult, 5’11” tall and weighing approximately 215 pounds with short, light brown hair. The suspect was unshaven and was last seen wearing a black long sleeved shirt with a white skull and a World War II helmet on the front, blue jeans, and blue/white sneakers.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400

Giving the downtown location and the way that the suspect was dressed, I imagine Davis PD. scooped down and picked up the lad up almost immediately.
Easy and quick arrest, right?

At first I thought, "What now? First the IRS is investigating the Tea Party and now the OddRead More Fellows and Soroptimist?" But then, after reading the article I realize that these are pretty serious allegations if proven to be true. I'm curious what specific "foster youth" organizations have benefitted from all of this fundraising. "Foster youth" is a pretty generic phrase and could refer to any number of organizations. With all of the non-profits I have worked with, the specific charity benefitting from their work was very clearly identified (and their 501c status was never in question).
