Former-Lt. John Pike Wants Workers' Comp for Aftermath of Pepper-Spray Incident
John Pike is no longer a UC Davis Police officer, but received numerous threats after being identified as the officer who pepper-sprayed seated protesters at a 2011 protest.
The embattled former UC Davis Police officer who was identified as the pepper-sprayer in the 2011 on-campus protest has applied for workers' compensation, the Davis Enterprise is reporting.
The Enterprise reports that John Pike is seeking compensation because of a psychiatric injury.
Pike rocketed to the international spotlight after being identified as the police officer pepper-spraying seated protesters in the 2011 incident, and received numerous threats, according to the Davis Enterprise.
The Davis Enterprise reports that Pike's case will be heard on Aug. 13, and a protest is scheduled for that morning in Sacramento.
