Man Struck in Head at H Street Bike Tunnel: 15-Year-Old Arrested Two Months Later

The Sacramento resident was arrested on charges of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

UPDATE: Nearly two months after a man was struck in the head while riding his bike through the H Street Bike Tunnel and robbed of his wallet, the Davis Police Department has made an arrest.

A 15-year-old Sacramento resident was arrested on charges of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. We'll update as we get more information.

ORIGINAL STORY (9/21/12): A 45-year-old Davis man was assaulted and robbed Thursday night at the H Street Bike Tunnel, according to the Davis Police Department.

Three men surrounded him as he was riding through the tunnel around 8 p.m. He was pushed off his bike and "struck in the head with a metal object," according to police.

"The suspects then demanded the victim’s wallet," wrote Police Lieutenant Glen Glasgow in a release. "After the victim complied, he ran from the scene and called the police. It was later determined that the suspects had also taken the victim’s bicycle when they fled the area."

The victim sustained minor injuries in the altercation.

The suspects are described as three Hispanic male adults all in their twenties -- all about 5-foot 9-inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. The suspects were last seen running eastbound towards J Street wearing dark hoodie sweatshirts and dark pants, according to police.
