Patricia Morgenthal, a 78-year-old Davis resident who went missing from her east Davis apartment on Friday, was found dead Saturday night, the Davis Police Department reported today.
"We sadly report that missing person Patricia Morgenthal was found deceased in West Sacramento on the evening of July 14," stated a Davis Police Department press release.
The West Sacramento Police Department received a call of a possible dead body west of the Ironworks residential subdivision in West Sacramento. The Yolo County Coroner's Office then identified the body as Morgenthal.
Morgenthal was officially pronounced dead at 8:26 p.m. on Saturday. The coroner suspects she passed hours before she was found, the release stated.
The release stated that there are no obvious signs of foul play, but an autopsy is pending. Morgenthal was known to have dementia. An investigation is underway.
