Home Burglar Arrested. Do You Recognize Him?

Kyle Frank, 37, of Shingle Springs was arrested on Thursday.

Note: Davis Police don't typically release booking photos. They did so in this case because the man is a suspect in other recent burglaries. Do you recognize Kyle Frank (above)?

Story: Davis police arrested a 37-year-old Shingle Springs man named Kyle Frank on Thursday after he robbed a home on Layton Drive in East Davis.

“We’re going to continue our investigation to see what he’s connected to,” said Davis Police Lt. Paul Dorovhov, noting that this robbery was similar to many others that have plagued Davis lately. “We will release a booking photo later today.”

Here’s a release from Davis police. We’ll continue to add to this story. For updates:

The incident began when a 12-year-old boy, who was home alone, heard someone knocking at the front door of his residence. The boy did not answer the door and did not make any noise. Moments later, the victim observed a male suspect in the backyard. The victim ran into a bathroom at the back of the house, locked the door, and called 911. The suspect managed to gain entry into the residence by forcing open the side door that leads into the garage. The suspect stole property and fled.

Kyle Frank was quickly detained in the area of Layton Drive by two responding Davis Police Detectives. Property taken from inside the victim's residence was found in Frank's possession. After a brief investigation, Frank was arrested for burglary and later lodged at the Yolo County Jail. Further investigation revealed that Frank may be connected to another burglary that occurred on Albany Avenue earlier today.

The Davis Police Department has been deploying additional resources in residential areas due to a rash of burglaries that have been taking place during the daytime.
