Police: Home Burglar Caught by Resident Easter Morning, But Struggled Free

Police formed a perimeter, but the suspect got away.

 

Davis police responded to an interrupted residential burglary on Regis Drive in Davis around 5:40 on Easter Morning. 

A neighbor told Patch that there were "cops everywhere, blocking off Regis and doing a house to house search."

A "male subject was observed inside the residence and when confronted, fled the house," said Lt. Glenn Glasgow in an email. "The resident was able to briefly detain the suspect but the suspect was able to struggle free and flee that [area] on a bicycle. The suspect was last seen jumping into the backyard of a residence in the 2100 block of Regis."

Although police established a perimeter, they were not able to locate the suspect. No description of the suspect was provided. The race is unknown, according to police.
