UPDATE: 25-Year-Old Arrested in Connection with Sexual Assault at Davis Community Church

UPDATE: The Davis Police Department arrested a man Monday afternoon in connection with the sexual assault that took place on the Davis Community Church property on Saturday. (Original story below) 

Police received a call around 2:20 p.m. from a community member reporting a possible sighting of the suspect, according to Davis Police Lt. Glenn Glasgow, who shared the following statement: 

"Officers responded to the area and located the reported individual, Christopher Turk, 25 year old transient, at a commercial shopping center in West Davis. Turk was taken into custody without incident. During a search, physical evidence was recovered which connected Turk to the incident. Turk was lodged at the Yolo County Jail for sexual assault, robbery, burglary, false imprisonment, and sexual battery."

Pastors Respond to Sexual Assault at Davis Community Church

ORIGINAL STORY: A man who sexually assaulted a woman at knifepoint on church property was at large Sunday night, Davis police reported.

The assault was reported about 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Davis Community Church property at 412 C St.

According to police, the suspect brandished a stabbing type of instrument and attacked her, then stole property from her before running off.

The suspect was black, about 5 feet 11 and heavy set, with a bad complexion; he was last seen wearing dark clothing and red shoes, police said.
