The above security footage was uploaded to YouTube on February 2 with the following caption: "A random fight leaves a window at de Luna Jewelers broken. Then some passers-by decide to help themselves to the merchandise."
Police hope the community can help track down those responsible.
The situation started around 2:49 a.m. on Thursday morning, according to the Davis Enterprise, when four people walked by the storefront, with two of them rolling around on the ground and fighting. During that altercation, the two slammed into the window, which apparently caused damage to the glass. Next, one of the others in the group kicked the window, causing it to shatter, at which point all four of them ran away.
About a half hour later, several groups of people walked by and removed Native American pottery and other items from the display.
“Even though the window was already broken, they still entered the premises with the intent of committing a crime,” Glasgow told the Davis Enterprise.
