Yolo County Sheriff’s deputies, investigating the attempted abduction of a 10 year-old boy in Winters, are asking for help from the public.
The boy was walking home from a fast food restaurant along Russell Boulevard near Brinley Drive around 6 p.m. Sunday, when a man in a gold-colored car stopped and told him to get in the vehicle, according to Sgt. Lance Faille.
Instead, the boy ran to a nearby home and the Sheriff’s Office was notified.
The boy, who said he’s never seen the man or his vehicle, was not hurt, Faille stated in a press release.
The suspect is described as an overweight Hispanic male between 20 and 30 years of age, bald and clean shaven, wearing a black t-shirt and gold chain around his neck.
The vehicle is described as an older, four-door, gold car with a layer of dust as if it had been driven in a field, according to the press release.
The Sheriff’s Office has contacted officials from Waggoner Elementary School, Shirley Rominger Intermediate School and Winters Middle School to ask that students and parents be notified for their safety.
Anyone with information about this incident should call the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office at (530) 668-5280.
