163,000 Jobs Added to U.S. Economy

What are your thoughts on Davis' economy?

The Labor Department reported today that the U.S. economy broke out of its hiring slump in July as employers nationwide added 163,000 new jobs over the month — the most since February, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Still, the country's jobless rate increased from 8.2 percent in May and June to 8.3 percent last month, with the number of unemployed workers rising to 12.8 million.

Davis Mayor Joe Krovoza recently released an open letter in which he says he wants to engage the community to come up with a long-term economic plan for town.

Are you on board with Krovoza's stategy? What are your thoughts on Davis' economy?
