why would the city close wet fields? do they deem them unsafe or...?

Randall-the fields are safe but the turf will be ruined if they have continued use when they are wet. Also the city posted permanent signs in all the parks that have sports fields in them. They are attached to poles near an entrance. Most fields are not going to have a sign in the middle of the field anymore.
