Fifth Street Improvements on Tonight's Council Agenda

The council will hold a public hearing tonight about Fifth Street Corridor improvements.

The city manager will recommend that the council move forward with design of the imporovements, at a cost of about $125,000. The road diet would turn the downtown section of Fifth Street from four lanes to two, with a median in the middle and several turning lanes at intersections.

The downtown area of is not only viewed as one of the sections of town, but it has also been the site of many vehicle accidents, which have been documented in the Old North Davis Chat blog.
