After initially attempting to remove the students from the quad, UC Davis authorities have allowed the Occupy movement to maintain its presence on campus in the wake of in mid November.

This comes just one day after the Occupy Davis camp in Central Park announced that they would , although several tents still remain in the park. They plan to continue the movement in other ways.

Here's Friday's message from Occupy UC Davis:

We have voted to disassemble the camp today, to be reassembled at the start of Winter quarter, as a community building process. Part of this means we need help! Come to the quad and lend us a hand! We also need you to take your stuff, if you left anything at the camp site. Anything without a clear owner is going to be packed up, sorted out, and stored. Anything that is very clearly waste will be sorted and disposed of by our expert scavengers and reuse crew. We promise to be careful, but to be absolutely sure your things are kept together and returned in order, come to the quad today and claim them! Come on out!
