Rising Water Rates on Tap at Tonight’s Council Meeting

City hall is expected to fill with citizens who are unhappy about the rate increase.

The city council will vote tonight on that stand to drastically increase the cost of water between now and 2016.

The increase, which will be more than double, is intended to fund the new Woodland-Davis water project that will pipe water from the Sacramento River under Proposition 218.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:30, but the agenda has the water discussion starting at 8:15 pm. The schedule could get moved around, however, as city hall is expected to fill with citizens who are unhappy about the rate increase.
