VIDEO: Why Students are Suing UC Davis Over Pepper Spray

In a video produced by the ACLU, three students explain why they are suing UC Davis over the pepper spray events of Nov. 18, 2011.  

“I experienced being tear gassed in Palestine,” said UC Davis student Fatima Sbeih. “I just never would have thought it would have happened to me here.”

Students and alumni are suing U.C. Davis over the University's treatment of protesters during a Nov. 18 demonstration in which campus police were caught on video dousing seated protesters with pepper spray. The plaintiffs are represented by the ACLU of Northern California and cooperating attorneys.

A report was suppoed to be released today, March 6, but has been postponed at the request of the union that represents the UC Davis Police Department.
