Why is the US the only industrialized country without national health care? The reason we sped so much money on health care is because the uninsured use the ER for their primary care physician, visiting too late and resulting in extensive and expensive treatment which for the most part could have been avoided by scheduled preventive doctor visits.

I agree with Hal... Romney should be cowering in the shadows with Obama while Iran threatens all the Middle East nations that sell oil to the west.

Mr. Romney,
As CEO of Bane Capital, would you ever agree to acquire a company that would only provide you with 2 years of most recent financial data, and that totally rejected any request from Bane for Additional Financial Information? If not, how can you deny the American Public the release of additional years of your personal Tax Information? If so, then i would question your business acumen, which you claim is the main reason you should be elected President. Patrick Spears Jupiter Florida

Gov Romney what can you tell us about how you bettered the health care of those workers from Bain owned entities?
Paul October 6, 2012 at 12:27 pm
The people of each state should vote on their own laws and taxes and should be about to choice what they feel is right for their state. If you don't like the state laws you move to another state seem like great competition for each to to make favorable laws to attract more people that are like minded for that state. I like that idea and it is something that makes our country nice. There should be less Federal government control over state rights and more to the people of the states to decide what they feel is right for them.

Gentlemen : You both talked about subicities to oil companies and cutting them. How do you plan to control subcities to Drug Companies for prescription coverage on Medicaid? Futhermore, are you going to look at patent law to get generics out faster? And lastly, what about malpractice caps to help lower hospital and doctors cost? If someone takes out a $500,000 life insurance policy why is it they can get millions in a malpractices suit that goes to lawyers?
Rick Waltch October 6, 2012 at 12:28 pm
No one is firing Big Bird. PBS is fully able to fund that show if they desire, only 7% of funding goes to that show. I'm sure the private sector (CBS,NBC, CNN, ABC) would take that popular show if they needed to. Until Government gets out of the way, its people will be beholden to it.
Dana Cooper October 6, 2012 at 12:29 pm
Romney, you are quoted that it is not your problem to care about 47 percent of America's population. Tell us explicitly which Americans are included in that 47 percent. Is that seniors on welfare, independents who voted for Obama in 2008? Be specific.
Rick Waltch October 6, 2012 at 12:30 pm
The more interesting question is why is our own government buying Chinese made Solar Panels?
Irene Jones October 6, 2012 at 12:33 pm
I would ask both candidates to comment on the following: Considering the past 11 years of US government policy have been based on the events and aftermath of the September 11th attacks and many Americans are beginning to question the governments official analysis of those events, can you comment on if you would be willing to open a new investigation into the events on September 11th so that the country can correct its misguided foreign policy based on incomplete and construed facts. It is quite apparent to any average viewer that the collapse of the twin towers and building 7 tend to defy some of the most basic laws of physics and the governments analysis defies scientific principals. How do you intend to rectify that billions of dollars, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and new policies and laws created by Congress are a response to perhaps a whole set of false truths?

Education Question
Mr. Romney destroyed blue collar jobs at Bain Capital and Pesident Obama has drastically cut vocational education. Because education reform ignored the 60% of students who take vocational education, in favor of the college bound students. How will you change the reform movement to help the forgotten 60%?
Rick Waltch October 6, 2012 at 12:36 pm
Mr. Obama,
Why did you feel it necessary to jump in during the de-unionizing in Wisconsin, but during the teachers union strike in Chicago your lay mute? You said in your speech that you would be riight in the fight with them? Could it be because Rahm Emanual was involved?

Two Question regarding Health Care for Mr Romney:
1. " Governor Romney, you do no like <<Obamacare>> and wish to repeal it. Do you believe that all American should have access to Health Care ? If you do, how exactly do you intend to accomplish this goal ? Remember, ALL Americans (meaning citizens, permanent residents), no exceptions ! " 2. " Governor Romney, you recently publicly said that right now Americans can obtain (free or not free) health care by going to The Emergency Room. This may be useful in an acute situation, such as a heart attack, hyperglycemic attack, auto accident, but does not apply to chronic deseases, such as Diabetes Type 2 which requires continuous care not provided by any emergency room. If you agree that this is true, than do you still believe that The Emergency Room can solve all health care problems of the currently uninsured ?

Mr. Romney; If you believe your voucher plan for Medicare recipients is so good, why do you want to wait till 2023 . Why not in 1-2 years. unless you know your real intention is to dismanle Medicare.

To both candidates:
Do you believe that health care for all should be paid for by the wealthy and middle class? (the government) or should each poor person be required to perform some type of service to the community for their care? If they are able and they refuse, should they receive no care from the government and must rely on charity alone?

My Question for Romney is how are broad tax cuts going to create 12 million jobs when:
Taxes as a percentage of USA GDP have been at record lows over the last 3 years. Profits as a percentage of USA GDP have been at record highs over the last 3 years. Corporations have had record piles of cash sitting on their balance sheets over the last 3 years. With taxes already so low as percentage of GDP and profits so high as a percentage of GDP, and corporate Cash at record highs, what makes you think that indiscriminately cutting taxes further will lead to a miracle creation of 12 million jobs? If your goal is to put more money in the pockets of consumers who make up 70% of our National Economy, are you not approaching this task from the wrong end? How about increasing labors share of the GDP? Real Median Wages have been at 40 year lows. Wages as a percentage of GDP are at 40 year lows. Profits as a percentage of GDP are at 70 year highs. Reverse the outsourcing of 6 million jobs. This would stop downward pressure on REAL Median Wages. Discriminate Tax Cuts on only those firms who INsource American Jobs. Tax Punishment for firms that Outsource used to finance the externalities of such actions(ie: outsourcing leads to lower funding for schools, higher prison incarceration rates, more local government debt, poison in our childrens toys, etc etc.). Govt contracts only for US and Foreign firms that EMPLOY American workers on fullfilling the contract.

Romney:
How will cutting Medicaid and raising the program over $1 trillion dollars after you appeal the Affordable Care Act help Americans? or are those American citizens included in the 47% of lazy people that think they deserve healthcare food, and housing? Please break down your healthcare plan (not goal), and how it will accommodate the uninsured children, disabled, and elderly persons specifically?
Daniel October 6, 2012 at 03:44 pm
Mr President...why do you want to be reelected and how would the next four years be different from the last four?...you stated the you have learned government cannot be changed from the inside so could you make more of a difference from the outside?.
YouLiberalsSuck October 6, 2012 at 04:07 pm
Mr. Obama, you are okay. However, you don't need an "Okay" President, which is what you have been (and I am being generous in this comment). Time for that seat to be "Taken" by someone that will do more than just sit in it.
Aaron October 6, 2012 at 04:10 pm
You don't seem to understand what Romney's job was / responsibilities were when he was with Bain Capital. His job was to make money for investors. He said he could, did that well. When his job will be to fix the economy and create an envoronment where the private sector can create jobs, you can expect him to do that well.
Chris Muir October 6, 2012 at 04:49 pm
139, not 900, you've been getting bogus information.
http://factcheck.org/2012/09/obamas-executive-orders/ BTW, that is less than the number of executive orders issued by President GW Bush in his first term - 160.
Chris Muir October 6, 2012 at 05:08 pm
For Romney: The Bush tax cuts have been in effect for a decade, and have resulted in record deficits under both Republican and Democratic administrations, and the biggest recession since the Great Depression. Considering the historical evidence, how can you justify an additional 20% reduction in tax rates, or even continuing the Bush tax rates?
For Obama: Interest on the National Debt is consuming increasing amounts of Government revenues. If that debt starts threatening vital Government programs, which Government programs or subsidies or tax rebates would you consider reducing or eliminating to help balance the budget?
Chris Muir October 6, 2012 at 05:14 pm
More importantly, why is unearned income taxes at a lower rate than earned income? Is investing somehow more difficult and laborious than actually working?
Chris Muir October 6, 2012 at 05:25 pm
Bain Capital would buy control of a business, offshore jobs where possible and lay off workers to temporarily boost profits, leverage the company deeply into debt, charge that business millions in "management fees", raid corporate pension funds, then spin it off laden with debt, which usually resulted in it going bankrupt and the Government having to bail out the pension fund. The few companies that somehow survived that Bain debt loading are now being touted as Romney's successes.
Chris Muir October 6, 2012 at 06:27 pm
Romney: In May 1992 you saved Bain & Co. from bankruptcy, using a provision in the loan document by threatening to pay out huge bonuses to top executives and drain all cash reserves from the company, forcing creditors to accept 30 cents on the dollar for debt repayment. The resulting bank losses forced the FDIC to step in and repay the banks, a Government bailout of the banks that bailed out Bain & Co.
My question is, would you consider doing a similar debt repayment plan to eliminate the National Debt? If not, why not?

John - Bain is never brought up because there is nothing to bring up! Romney saved companies by trimming the excess, Too many employees, remember these companies were going bankrupt due to excess spending - like salaries then everyone would be out of work! Where is your brain? It is the same thing that we should do in government, Obama has more government employees than are necessary and at exhorbitant salaries. Obama and his administration waste money, pay back political contributors at our expense. Obama's administration was suppose to be transparent and is just the opposite, they lie and distort the truth. If Obama were white he never would have been elected in the first place. What are his qualifications? The ignorant or those who directly benefit will vote for him again even after his failed policies and lawless activities. I think you will be one of them! He has done more to bring this beautiful country down than anyone I can think of in history; he should be prosecuted for breaking the law. GM should have gone under so that union contracts could have been renegotiated. He protected the unions to get the vote. Everything he does is to get reelected. He is circumventing the law right now by not having defense contractors notify their employees with 6 months notice until after the election of an impending layoff as required by law. He said he is going to pay all of the contractor's penalties for breaking the law that will be with our tax dollars. Ted

Rolling Stone magazine?? There's an un-biased view of politics (sarcastic)!! The liberal Obama loving media at its best! But I guess if it's in print, then it must be 100% the truth!!
Lori Prizmich October 9, 2012 at 07:04 pm
To the candidates: What specific skills, abilities and experiences lead you to believe that you will be able to break through the gridlock in Washington and represent the majority of moderate, middle-class Americans?

At first I thought, "What now? First the IRS is investigating the Tea Party and now the OddRead More Fellows and Soroptimist?" But then, after reading the article I realize that these are pretty serious allegations if proven to be true. I'm curious what specific "foster youth" organizations have benefitted from all of this fundraising. "Foster youth" is a pretty generic phrase and could refer to any number of organizations. With all of the non-profits I have worked with, the specific charity benefitting from their work was very clearly identified (and their 501c status was never in question).
