The cheapest homes in Davis are always going to be the mobile homes. Potential buyers need to be aware of the rental rates for the land that the mobile home sits on. Often times, that cost is higher than the mortgage payment.

My husband started his new job with UCD in July. We have yet to find a home for our family! My two daughters and I are still living in Virginia. It has been difficult having our family separated. I can only home that there are more homes available as spring approaches.

Wow, that must be an awful situation to be in. Why haven't you been able to find anything? What kind of houses have you been seeing on the market?

New To Davis - you're not in a awful situation. You're in a HORRIBLE situation. My company transferred me ,and my family of three, out here from a small town out in the Chicago suburbs. It was total culture shock. We needed something inexpensive due to California's extremely high cost of living. Yea right! ....Food was higher, gas, income taxes, and sales taxes. Hell, Beer was higher! We looked at Woodland but our Spanish is a little rusty and I haven't used a weapon in a while. West Sac- very scary at night. Dixon-Low life. Knight's Landing HA! So, Looks like Davis ,high water rates, wishy-washy city council, and slaughtering the existing wild life is it. .

I hope you will find something soon.Things are looking up. Inventory is increasing and interest rates are still low. If you are not already working with a Realtor, I would be happy to help. I think people who buy this year are going to look back and congratulate themselves on their timing.

At first I thought, "What now? First the IRS is investigating the Tea Party and now the OddRead More Fellows and Soroptimist?" But then, after reading the article I realize that these are pretty serious allegations if proven to be true. I'm curious what specific "foster youth" organizations have benefitted from all of this fundraising. "Foster youth" is a pretty generic phrase and could refer to any number of organizations. With all of the non-profits I have worked with, the specific charity benefitting from their work was very clearly identified (and their 501c status was never in question).
