UC Davis Athletics announced and introduced its new head football coach at a news conference at 10 a.m. on Monday on the Aggie campus. The new coach: Ron Gould.
"...Gould spent 16 seasons at Cal from 1997-2012, starting with 11 campaigns as the running backs coach (1997-2007) before being promoted to an associate head coach role in 2008 and adding the title run game coordinator for his final two seasons in 2011 and 2012," according to the Cal Berkeley athletics site.
The announcement culminated a search led by Director of Athletics Terry Tumey to replace Bob Biggs who retired after the 2012 season. Biggs, the second-winningest coach in program history, served 20 seasons as the Aggies' head coach.
