Aikido introductory course begins
This eight-week Introductory/beginners course in Aikido is an excellent means to become acquainted with the dynamic, flowing, graceful and effective martial art of Aikido, which is dedicated to non-violent resolution of conflict, spiritual development, and world peace. Participants of all ages and physical abilities are welcome! Aikido is for everyone. The course will ground the participants in basic principles of Aikido movement and technique. It also will introduce the participants to the spiritual philosophy of Aikido as articulated by its Founder, Morihei Ueshiba. Come prepared for fun, and have an open mind! The fee for this eight-week course includes registration and a training gi (dojo uniform). At the end of eight weeks, the student will be ready to progress into normal dojo classes at a ranked level, if this is desired. The course is taught by one of the dojo's senior instructors and is under direct supervision of the dojo's Chief Instructor, Hoa Newens sensei (7th dan).
