<p>This church held its first service in 1964 at the Brinley Office Building in downtown Davis. It was founded as a congregation of the Lutheran Church in America by Reverend Arthur L. Henry, who had completed theological studies at the Lutheran School of Theology in Rock Island, Ill. The current building was erected in 1967.</p> <p>According to a spokesperson, the church congregants feel they are challenged by their religious beliefs to care for, love, respect, and listen to all. Membership is not limited, said the spokesperson in a statement, by race, age, marital or economic status, physical or mental abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity or personal history.</p>
