Mikuni Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar

Mikuni, located next door to Plutos in the Davis Commons, is one of six locations for the small Sacramento based chain. The site, like all of its locations, is hip and trendy, attempting to marry a traditional sushi restaurant with a contemporary cosmopolitan facade; there is a well lit bar, flashy mirrors, large flat screen tvs, modern decor and a lively atmosphere. The restaurant is noisy during peak hours, and quite busy most evenings; every time a customer enters the staff shouts a Japanese greeting to them which lends to the constant noise. The food itself is more contemporary, but with traditional options. Overall, Mikuni is a bustling, fun place to go with a crowd or for a fun night out.
