Truly, the participants should boycott the race over this asinine backpack ban. I'm not a runner,…Read More but I would do so if I had previously had plans to attend this event.
But I already boycott doing any business in SF over the unconstitutional red light cameras and the OUTRAGEOUS fines that they have imposed for these pernicious, non-human devices so I guess this is just another reason to not visit SF.

I'm not from Sac and I'm die hard Bulls Fan. As an NBA fan I really hope that the commissioner and…Read More owners vote on keeping the Kings in Sacramento. It's not the fans fault that Seattle wasn't able to keep their team and also not their fault that their team owners decided not to invest in better players and instead invest in a building casino and resort in Las Vegas which failed and now want the city of sacramento and their community to suffer. Sacramento deserves the kings not Seattle. They can't support all the teams they have now. How are they going to support another team?? Seattle worry about supporting the Mariners when King Felix isn't pitching and the worry about getting an NBA team back to Seattle.

Actually, Trisha, you are wrong about the title. This article is posted on multiple Patch pages. I'm…Read More looking at it under the Banning-Beaumont Patch. I also assume that when Peter posted, the article DID have a channel #, which was removed after his post. It wasn't rude, it was simply pointing out a discrepancy in the article, which was then corrected. Thanks, Peter, for pointing that out to the editors.

I re read the above article and didn't see a channel number. All I saw was CBS. Don't know where…Read More you live but the title of this page is called "Diamond Bar-Walnut" Patch and here CBS is located on Channel 2. You were rude to the editor!

Another cutie. JJ, thank you for conquering your fears to show your team love!

I won't miss the Kings a bit. Seattle will love them. Blanket advertising will take care of that.…Read More With increased ticket prices, parking, the cost of a beer a couple cokes and nachos, a mid-income guy with a couple boys can no longer afford attend a game. Buying a Kings Jersey? Forget it, it's as much as a tank of gas.

Thanks for that comment, j braun. I think the data definitely shows how NBA interest in Seattle has…Read More changed sine the Sonics left (7.5 percent average from 2000-2007, 8.9 percent in 04-05).
I'm curious, how do you feel about the way this back and forth between Seattle and Sacramento has been playing out so far? I haven't heard much from Seattle residents on it.
Victor Calderon January 23, 2013 at 01:01 pm
There's still a chance. Here's hoping for the best for our SACRAMENTO Kings.

What a jerk. It is not microsoft putting up the money it is Ballmer! Why did he let the Maloofs…Read More screw the city so bad with idiot mentality. Those guys are living off the fathers genius and they did nothing but obliterate his reputation. Let them go. They have the lowest value of any of the NBA teams.Good by to Cousin's crying. He never was and never will be!!!

It looks like the sale of the controlling equity in the Kings is consummated and binding. That…Read More means if the Johnson group wants to buy the controlling interest in the Kings, they would have to buy it from the Hansen group. We have to remember that the NBA could treat the sale and the request to move the franchise as two separate transactions. A better strategy would probably be to help Mr. Stern and the NBA out by allowing the sale and movement of the franchise in exchange for an immediate expansion franchise for Sacramento. That would probably cost a lot less and would leave money for contracts for new management and players and some left over to help build a new arena. Seattle would be the owners of the current Kings management and player contracts which I think are over valued. We must remember that the Maloof's increased the payroll by, I think, about $10 million this year, and I am not sure that bought much. I think an expansion franchise with new management and players may help fill the arena, which the current team and management does not.

When I see Major League Baseball, the NFL, the AFL, the NBA, the NHL and the NCAA publish and…Read More enforce a real drug policy, I will believe someone has become serious about this issue. In the meantime I see a lot of posturing and worthless statements but little to no action. If we want to see our kids idolize people who use and condone the use of drugs, that is what we have now. It’s a sad commentary on what we have grown to accept.

PJM, this is a free enterprise system and as far as I know, no US laws have been broken. The real…Read More issue here is as I and now others have mentioned, want the youth of our country following the lead of these players who have chosen to play outside the lines of the game. I only use the NFL seemed like and I still think it is as did MLB in the recent HOF voting results begin setting the bar for future players. I do not care if one has more legal liability than the other. One good example might be the labeling of cigarette packaging with the warning health labels..... now do you see, it really doesn't matter how it happens, just as the Surgeon General's warning is to try to prevent smoking and inherent damage that may occur, but it also in a sense allows the tobacco companies some if very limited liability from Suites of the legal variety. It's all good in my book, but not the use of Steroids in MLB!

The Kings need to stay, the Maloofs need to move on. Please sign the online petition.

Does this mean we won't have to listen to any more about the Maloof brothers? Good riddance. Where's…Read More the loyalty to the fans? Are we still on to receive a soccer team? That could be fun and different.
Mark Paxson January 10, 2013 at 12:34 am
If they do sell to the Seattle group, it will be the final thumb in the eye of Sacramento. A…Read More billionaire was willing to buy the team with the intent of keeping them in Sacramento. He probably would have been fine with the downtown arena plan the Maloofs torpedoed. But, the Maloofs won't sell to him. They won't sell to somebody interested in keeping the team here. They will sell to somebody who will move the team elsewhere. They've never liked Sacramento, always thinking they are better, more classier than Sacramento is. Odd thing is, once they sell the Kings, they will have virtually nothing left other than the trust funds their daddy set up for them.
