This non-profit organization mobilizes and trains a network of volunteers who provide "respite" to caregivers of…More frail elderly people. Respite is simply time taken by a volunteer to "stand in" for a caregiver or relative, who may not have had a break for quite some time. In conjunction with these efforts, Citizens Who Care also organizes social activities for caregivers of the elderly at the Davis Senior Center.</p> <p>The Citizens Who Care volunteers visit isolated seniors at home or in convalescent hospitals as well.</p>
