I've podcasted, broadcasted, live-blogged and tweeted my way to Germantown Patch, but in the more traditional sense, you could say my background is in newspapers, particularly features and lifestyle reporting.
I earned a print journalism degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, was a Chips Quinn Scholar (summer 2003) and, more recently, was named a 2009 Maynard Institute Multimedia Editing Program fellow.
If the topic exists, I've probably written about it: I've covered school districts, the police beat, general news, food, health and pop culture over the span of my professional career. The same could be said for forms of digital media I've used as a journalist.
Off-the-clock, I am a die-hard volunteer for the Washington Association of Black Journalists Urban Journalism Workshop (check out the student paper). I am also a fan of ballet and all things dance.
I look forward to getting to know Germantown and telling your stories. Email your tips to tiffany.arnold@patch.com.
