It was a place before it was a catchphrase, Drake.
Years from now, Davis residents will be able to look back on 2012 and remember it as the year that "YOLO" almost made it into the dictionary.
The Oxford Dictionary USA instead opted for the file extension "GIF" as its word of the year.
But that didn't stop people around the country from adding the "You Only Live Once" catchphrase popularized by rapper Drake to Tweets, Facebook posts and other updates online.
